The Resource Curse

There is a famous concept in economics called the resource curse. That's when a country seemingly blessed with valuable natural resources ultimately suffers because it fails to diversify their economy. But I don't think there is a resource curse, and that venezuela suffered from chronic mismanagement of a one resource economy. My brother in law spent three years in jail for being a journalist. As they say, there's no problem of returning its getting back out. So let's think about venezuela.
