Don't eat the entire gallon of ice cream, maybe start with like half a pint. Your stomach might not be able to handle a lot of food. Smaller portions and meals every few hours is going to be more beneficial for the body recovery standpoint. The blood flow during the marathon is being flushed to your musculoskeletal system, to your muscles. So it really takes a while for the digestive system to actually work again or digesting food as it should.
