Talbot and Daguerre - What Talbot Means to Photography
Talbot's chemical technology is completely different to that of Daguerre. His substrate was paper dipped in silver salt, silver chloride or silver nitrate. What Talbot was offering was the dream and possibility of an indefinite number of copies. That meant photography might become a vastly diffused technique.
