Xenophon and the Anabasis

Xenophon tells the story of a peltast who was taken to Athens as a boy. He went on to join Cyrus's army and fought in his 10,000-man force. Xenophon says he told soldiers that if they didn't eat their enemies raw then they would die. The Greeks eventually made it to the sea but not before eating honey from swarms of bees.
