The Importance of Knowledge Work
David Allen used to sell the idea of knowledge work as separate from other things. Peter Drucker defined it this way, he says ideas are not like a tradable commodity with volume. Your thoughts don't have an inherent intrinsic value to them and they're only useful when you put them into action.
