Lessons Learned From the Able Archer 83 Crisis
The able archer crisis was roughly the first two weeks of November of 83 and where we were nearly brought to the brink of war unknowingly because we were mirror imaging. The Soviets viewed it as okay it may be an exercise but it's a cover for a sneak attack and their reference point today is 1941 Operation Barbarossa on the Soviet Union. Jack: What lessons do you think that we can take from this story from this time period in history when we look at our relations with Russia today? We didn't hear about it back then highly classified we didn't even know about it till 1999 where this chapter comes out in a in senior military officials memoir.
