Is the Written Formula Don't Always Work?

I'm thinking about the incorporation of the user in this written environment. Is it typical that the modality or the medium in which all of these insights are shared also take that written form? As a designer, I have a better example for that and then I can talk about research. In those moments, the written structure doesn't always help because writing means being very structured and methodical. But doing a design vision requires you to do a lot of back and forth. You need to think about what's the problem people are facing.
