What Is Liquidity?
The Federal Home Loan Bank is sort of a lender of penultimate resort for the banking sector, particularly for regional banks. We saw last week that FHLB advances shot up there in four billion dollars. So this is on top of the Fed's, through a billion dollar increase in their balance sheet. And so I think when people see the headline figures, they say, hey, look, liquidity is increasing,. And that is true, right? Liquidity is increasing. It's just going to decrease.
