There's no primordial essence of jew like, i cannow go to a store and get calvin climb as now there's jewish law. So we have assimilation and regionalism. There are also two other significant axies that come up, but are not as constant. One is sectarianism, which sort of comes out of the question of assimilation. And then there's just the question of classes and castes - higher and lower status people within the jewish community.
