The Albanese Government's Ban on TikTok on Government Devices

The Albanese government announced a ban on TikTok on government devices. The principle risk that they're trying to guard against by banning it from the work devices of public servants is an espionage risk. I think we have to look very closely at what should happen next, but my starting point is we cannot allow a company which is beholden to the Chinese Communist Party to have unregulated access to the data and the eyeballs and the brains of millions of Australians. Australia has to be part of that conversation. We have to make sure if America can solve this problem for their users, that we are protected by that solution as well'
