Do You Need a Temporary Restraining Order for Domestic Violence?
You don't need anything to make those allegations, but you do need more than just an allegation in order for a judicial officer to find that there has been domestic violence. I am in the interesting position where i will sometimes act as a judge protam at los angeles superior court when ther short handed or if they're really, really overloaded. And generally, rather than see spending a day sitting on the bench, what i'll do is be in chambers reading a bunch of these domestic violente requests. It's kind of like the boy who cried wolf....
