Kelse leonard is a water and climate science researcher at mc master university in hamilton, Ontario. She's from the shinnicak nation who live on what we call pomanock - an eastern end portion of long island that juts out into the ocean. Her community is known for beinga fisherman and particularly whalers. "Without water, we would not be here," she says.
