Natalia antalava is a journalist from the former soviet country of georgia. In 20 16 natalia co founded a web site called coda story which takes a long view on the spread of disinformation across the globe. She says that putin uses this information to both cloud the facts and to cloud morality. The more confused we are, the harder it is to hold him accountable. We'll spend the whole episode on the story, bringing you the big picture of what's happened up until now, and what could be happening next.
This weekend, we discuss the power of disinformation, and how Russia has been using it in Ukraine. We are joined by Natalia Antelava, who has reported in Ukraine and Eastern Europe for years. Natalia is editor-in-chief of the popular news website called Coda Story, which focuses on global digital crises, and has been closely covering Putin’s disinformation machine in Ukraine and beyond. We step back and examine the narratives Russia has used since 2014 to confuse, distort, and spread lies.
