The Problem With Tense
Tense is another way of describing a relation between a person and an event. But as used by philosophers talking about time, it doesn't refer to the form of verbs. It refers to what those verbs are used to discuss namely the difference between past, present and future. The only way in which they change is that they cease to be future, they become present, they become past. And yet everybody thinks that there's some sense in which these variations over time are different from variations across space.
