Synthoid and Subclinical Hypothyroidism
In terms of sick euthyroid, the other name for that is non-diverrital illness. There can be a lot of changes in the thyroid function tests when somebody has an acute illness. So this patient then has primary hypothyroidism based on the high TSH and low free T4. And just for fun, what if when we check this patient's free T4, instead of it being low at point eight, let's say it was 1.1 or normal with the same elevated Tsh of eight?
