The Importance of Distortion

I'm very much an analog based audio file in the fact that I know what it brings to the digital world and it brings a lot of time. Distortion is like the key to excitement, power, perceived volume, ways of dealing with transients. If you master it it kind of feels like you can kind of do any genre. The only sort of thing is being able to understand how distortion works. It's trying to get things so you can sort of like reach into the song to things and then go back and pull them forward. And distortion helps you sort of really do some really interesting sort of colorations to things.
