The Exile of the Israelites

In the ninth year of Hosea, the king of Syria captures Samaria and he did what you might expect. He carried the Israelites away to Assyria and he placed them in halal on the Tigris and Euphrates. So they are exiled as had, of course, as had been promised by God for generations up to this point. And yet they are still part of Israel or goodness gracious I'm losing my mind.
