A Tale of a Snowman

A young man named Jamie grew up in the village by the mountain. He heard stories of men who had tried to scale the mountain, carrying a gift to win the hand of the stranded princess. Every suitor who had attempted the quest had failed, ending up back at the bottom of the slope. To ascend the mountain and outlast the bird's advances seemed impossible. So he hatched a plan that was almost ridiculously simple. The boy planned to use his ice skates to anchor his feet while he scaled the mountain. That way, when the fabled giant bird appeared, he would have his hands free toward it off.
