In the service industry, if you get off work at 2 a.m., your job is to make it all feel like it's kind of working because families are emotionally and psychologically important in whatever configuration they might take. But they're also politically mandatory. And so that means that they both have to kind of do all of the material stuff that like all the family members require of the wife and mother. You really actually do have to try to put on a good show.
