Xenophon and Socrates

Socrates has already had to suffer through a conversation with cephilus and thyrsymacus. Why not at this point just tay lick, i don't give god damn? The question of socratess motivation is really important. Xenophon tells us that socrates took an interest in glaucon for the sake of plato who asked socrates to look after him.
