Jeff: I've had this little problem with two songs. Narls Barkley's Going On and Cold War by Janelle Monet are really close to many aspects, or is it only in my head? Can you put some light on this case? Jeff: They're both very similar but they're also different in some key ways. These were both really fun to break down. It goes to show music can be in 4-4, and even when that's the case, you can still count it like a nerd.

Tim Howes is a doctor and saxophonist based in Bristol, UK. He started on sax at age 10, playing Beatles and Stones covers in a school band, then became obsessed with jazz theory as a teenager, tracing how jazz harmony flows through other musical styles. Sax playing eventually took a backseat to studying and practicing medicine, but he has passed his love of music on to his kids. (And he still sounds pretty great, in my opinion! ~K)
