In 18 55, he wanted to bring his family back to france to live. He retired after 30 years of being the first pharmacis in the united states. The popularity of the pharmacy really just plummeted. People didn't d him, but he was kind of like a necessary evil and so they just kind of used him reluctantly. And because he sucked, and no one wanted to come to his pharmacy he would put things like heroine and cocaine in his mixtures of medicine when they were never necessary.
