The Challenges to Building Experimentation in Companies

The core of it, in my opinion, is the nature of how business is run. In most organizations you've basically got people being hired and promoted based on their external experience. And so even though ultimately people might sort of laterally agree with the idea of experimentation, they still on the other hand are in a position where they have to basically come up with an opinion and be proven right. So that is the biggest challenge. It's not an easy thing to change. But as long as somebody realizes that that is the issue and that they can sort of work to affect that cultural change, then eventually it will work.
