When 9/11 happened, i had two pre schoolers and we used to have wide open army installations. I was already rushing to make it to p t on time. After the gate situation changed, there was no way i could make it. And so he said, so don't show up. Do it on your own. It was that simple for him. Sometimes leaders just needs to, as my husband is saying, look at the situation that your people are in and find a way to help him through it. But what we have to understand is there are certain people that don't want to ever have that conversation. They'll be alone. So have that conversation early enough.
