He was known by the global elite botanist to get like really important and rare species that ended up being important for research around the globe. By 1960, he was arguably the most important botanist out of all of them in the world. And here he was in Chappingo, the state school. He wasn't above any of it. Was he supposed to be in like a uridite school somewhere? I don't know. It's interesting because he's this guy who he can teach work anywhere.
