The helping profession was coined in the seventies by a psychologist named herbert freudenberger. Freudenberger was speaking in particular about the helping professions, and that they combine both high stress and high ideals. The question then becomes like how do you restore this? How do you get more fuel? What gives you more fuel? Rest is one thing, but it's not always only rest. A fire that doesn't burn for a while needs something else to be given to it. And i think you're right. In every situation, the thing that is needed is going to be different."
