The Father Adventures of Robinson Crusoe
The Father Adventures of Robinson Crusoe was written in just six months. In the book, the fictional Crusoe is marooned not on the Juan Fernandez Islands, but 4,300 kilometers away in the Caribbean. He spends 28 years there, much longer than Selkirk's four and a half. The illustration on the front page of the book depicts Crusoe attired in the hairy goat-skin cap, jacket and britches that Selkirk wore. There are also many similarities between the two stories.
