The Vice Trial: A Randomized Trial in 17 EDs and ICUs
The duration of intubation was shorter in the video-learningoscope group, 38 seconds versus a median of 46 seconds. We found a similar failure rate for inability to pass an ET2 or Bougie in both groups at around 7%. Our three safety outcomes of aspiration esophageal inhibition and injury to the teeth occurred in similar numbers in both groups. The clinical outcomes of ICU and ventilator free days and mortality also were generally similar between groups.
