The Importance of Correlations in Genetic Variants
We have these things called genome-wide association studies and what happens is you collect genetic data on hundreds of thousands of people. You can assign different embryos polygenic scores based on those correlations predicting the extent to which a particular embryo will be disposed to develop a particular trait. Some are incredibly accurate like height others are less accurate some of the disease traits such as diabetes type 1 might be able to reduce risk by 40 percent or 60 percent but not by 100 percent why? It's simply because not all of the genes associated with those traits are known and also because the environment still mattersThings aren't genetic all the way down environments do play some role so that’s polygenic screening you assign
