I think even though so many of us are told that hard work will speak for itself at some point in our lives we realize that it won't. The book is really about how do we flip these stereotypes and these obstacles in our favor so that we can create our own edge. We need to be able to hone our ability to kind of see and interpret what's happening, says the author.
