CHAPTER

How Do You Develop Theory of Mind?

If i just gave you osand bucks and made you play on line poker and set a max amount that you could lose per game to insure a certain number of repetitions, you would probably get better at predicting how others will respond. How would you suggest people develop this skill? Are there different approaches that you might suggest people take, or books or resources, anything for people who want to get better at this? What i would tell the listener is to start with what an economist calls the primitives of decision making. And after you figure that out, you then say, well, what's my optimal action given that the person operates in this way?
