India simultaneously has more Muslims than any other country on earth but is also the vast majority of people in it are Hindu. The fact that like the partitioning of India and Pakistan goes as violently as it does says something about the state of affairs at the time. It's probably worth noting that it's unlikely any of this would be happening if the British hadn't ruled India for a couple hundred years.
