The Dynasty of Egypt
The dynasty system was put in place by Greek writers, and doesn't reflect what we know from the pharaohs themselves. Ancient Egyptians described their royal history as one long lineage. They recognized changes in policies or trends, but overall, depicted the royal household as an enduring, stable line. So the way we describe dynasties is different from how the Egyptians saw it.
