In 1969, the federal Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs sees as all controlled drugs Dr. Jacobson has in his possession. He launches a civil suit against the bureau in the federal district court. In 1970, an inquiry is initiated into Dr.Jacobson's activities. Truman Capote tells the New York Times that he stopped seeingDr. Jacobson after being hospitalized on one occasion and is sure he's given amphetamines without his consent. This is administered to patients in high doses. 80 grams makes around 100 strong daily doses of 25 milligrams.
