The Importance of Sleep in Autistic People
Sleep problems are widely experienced by autistic people. For a person with CPTSD, sleep difficulties are often triggered by the trauma which then causes things like nightmares and broken sleep. Autistic people can experience this as in a hyper sensitive amygdala that seems to never shut up or relax or go away. One thing is linked to a known diagnosed disability, and the other is linked to the prolonged periods of trauma. Either way, we both share sleep difficulties.
