Each after page of this book is covered in dozens of little silhouette portraits. Two-inch tall, exquisitely detailed, black, paper-cut profiles. I think milliners would get a big kick out of this album. But nor notice something besides fancy hats. Some rusty-looking stains on the paper. Maybe some iron in the ink had oxidized. And it's that strange absence of evidence that should be potentially a warning sign in future.
