The Importance of Monitoring in Papua New Guinea

Last year, the IMF staff monitor program ended and there was a report produced. So I think the treasurer described it as a certificate of economic governance. It said that the Treasury, PG government had actually met a lot of the reforms that were tied to it or at least some of the criteria. But on the whole, it's met most of the reforms tied to it. And so we're interested in this podcast and seeing whether actions like giving loans or funding police reform programs or funding defense reform programs actually bring influence.
