Josh: I've heard hebrews 13 17 used over the years to justify an almost cult like obe ence to a pastor. Does this verse really command us to blindly do as we are told? Josh: As ministers of the word, were calling people to submit to the law of god,. That's the only authority that we have. And so when a pastor is making up rules for people, saying, well, i know that he doesn't say this in scripture a, but you must wear red on sunday, theyre abusing their authority.
