The Underprivaging of Smell in the History of Philosophy

In your dissertation, you argue that most theories of consciousness and cognition privilege senses other than smell. Can you tell us a little bit about how following the historical underprivaging of smell, we get to an impoverished view of what human cognitive processes look like? How would we think about thinking if we started from smell instead of say vision? One thing you might just wanna think about, right? If the objects are a little bit different, that means that they're gonna have different spatial coordinates. But that's also going to mean that you might have to think about the time scale.
