The Importance of the Context Over the Substance
It was very much interesting to hear how close they were to an agreement on the actual substance of the conflict. And looking back now, 15 years later, from those negotiations, and seeing how many difficulties we have in that process now,. It was a little bit sad to reflect on potentially amissed opportunity in that moment. What are the the context factors that tend to be the most influential for negotiators? Yit's a great question. We often think about that is in terms of what we might call conflict ripeness. So speaking this ripeness in a theory, it feels like around 20 15 was a pretty ripe error for these kinds of agreements for some reason.
