The Proclotting Effect of Cox 1 and Cox 2
The stomach's lining inside is mucous and bicarbonate predominantly. Why? Well because the stomach produces acid at a pH of around about 1 to 3 which is enough to digest nails so it's enough to digest itself. If you were to ingest house nails which nobody recommends, your stomach if it went past your esophagus would have the capacity to break it down. So that's really important. Another important point is that when you look at the thromboxane that is going to be mediated by Cox 1 as well and so that's the pro clotting effect.
