Zout Suit - A Symbol of Counter Culture
The zoot suit became a symbol of counter culture and empowers young black and mexican youth to express their in dualistic identity within their culture and society. The female members of this counterculture are called patrucas, and they wear tight sweaters and short, for the time, skirts that are like flared out. They have fish nets, have high hair dews and big earrings and heavy make up. It was rumoured that some of the pechukas would hide knives in there like buffants.
