When you post a selfie, it's not just an image of you at your best. It's an image that you think might remind other people of better than you. That version of you that appears in the mirror is what gives you your ideal ego and specular image. The grammatical subject is that positive selection like I want you to see me as this sort of person or is it a negative selection like I don't want you to seeing me as that sort of person.
