Do You Tell the Kids Now?
I'm in the circumstance where this older relative has a really solid relationship with her children. I just worry that there is a deeper seated reason that we are not aware of why she's being asked to be the executor and the kids are not. And so again, I want the lawyers advice about this. Do you tell the kids now? You give the kids a chance to lobby mom...and then perhaps our letter writer has laid out money that she's never going to see again. Yeah, I would advocate for full transparency.
