Is There a Catholicity of Sensitivity in Poetry?

When I was younger, I used to aspire. to a kind of perfect catholicity of literary sensibility,. so that I could appreciate all kinds of poetry. Like that's what I wanted to educate myself and train myself so that I can appreciate the whole range of poetry. But in order to appreciate certain things, you're going to probably lose the ability to appreciate some things that maybe you used to appreciate for. If you're a Jewish poet, if you want great Jewish poetry, you better learn to like it because that's where we go. And I don't know if it has to be that way, but I just noticed that it is that way.
