John Menard Keynes once put it like this: How do you get a society where people work together? You have to have a fair distribution of income, but also have full employment. And of course, you have to have some freedom. So the big question is how do you get this kind of society? And that's what he devoted his life for. He was always doing research and thinking about institutions that would bring about this type of society. But of course, we see added issue of having a sustainable economy, which is very urgent by now.
For currency-issuing governments, taxes for revenue are obsolete, so what *are* they for? Patricia & Christian talk to economist and author Dr Dirk Ehnts about the role of taxation in modern money systems, banking regulation, inflation, new eurozone fiscal rule proposals, and more.
