Biden Ate McCarthy's Lunch

Biden wanted a clean debt ceiling bill, which was a way of saying Biden wanted to give nothing up. He ended up giving up nominal spending caps on government spending for the next two years. Republicans really wanted work requirements in order to get government assistance. They're like, you know, too many people who are poor are just sitting around enjoying being poor. What we want them to do is have to work in order to be poor.
