The Denial of Plataianus

While Cevaris loved and trusted Plataianus the rest of the Severan family hated his guts. The Emperor persisted in his denial through 202 when he married Caracalla to PlataianUS' daughter Plataena. In January 2005 Caracalla went to a few centurions in the Praetorian camp with forged proof that Plataianu had ordered them and their associates to assassinate Caverus. Rumors then reached Caracalla of Plataia's intensified scheming.
