Are We in an AI Arms Race?
I think it's more important right now for people to be essentially testing these things. That's another reason why this thing shouldn't be let loose on the internet yet. Any of these things, without really understanding what it is that we're actually dealing with, who knows what way we might have summoned. So I think still alignment work trumps all even at the risk of morally offending a potential sentient AI.
