Tolstoy and the Red Cross

i start with leo tolstoy for a few reasons. He was present at the creation of the idea that we could use international law to make war more humane. i wanted to show how prescient he was, and how long it took then for the cindrome he worried about to come on life. The risks only became real in our lifetimes when war actually did become more humane.
